Mixer driver here. What we do if we have to add Super P or any other admix product on site (including fiber) is we roll the drum backwards and bring the concrete up to a point where the additive slides off the hopper directly onto the concrete, then give it a three to five minute stir. That way, you're not having to rinse product off the fins and sides of the drum with a big shot of water; the concrete stays at the slump it arrived.

it gives the concrete a place to crack, from the bottom of the cut to the ground below.

You can apply for a variance. They cost around $3,000 and there is no guarantee that it would be approved. Timeline could be as much as 3 months or more to even have it heard.

This looks like the perfect house to add that lien to bro. i've been following your guys channel for years and your jobs are always top notch. That armchair contractor is a bum man, last minute changes and change orders shows he doesn't know what hes doing. Get him to court and get that lien on there man, you have a following of almost 1/2 mil followers strong. most of the comments on here are nothing but supportive. that guy wont be in business long if that's his character

Hey there, I took a moment to watch the part 1 of the video. I genuinely empathize with the challenges you faced on that job. However, it seems there was a breakdown in communication and responsibility. In my experience, both contractors I've worked with always insisted on city inspections and ground marking before any digging began. So, I'm curious why those steps weren't taken in your situation. While I understand the frustration, it's essential to recognize that as a professional, the onus is on you to ensure these precautions are in place, especially with less experienced homeowners. Instead of resorting to blame, it might be more productive to reflect on what could have been done differently to prevent this situation. Rather than solely focusing on the negative aspects, perhaps there's an opportunity to learn and improve processes for future projects. For instance, implementing a policy of securing partial payments as work progresses and ensuring all necessary inspections are completed beforehand could mitigate risks like this in the future. I've personally had positive experiences with contractors who adopt this approach. They're proactive in discussing issues, adjusting rates if necessary, and ensuring the best outcome for everyone involved. Ultimately, the goal should be constructive dialogue and problem-solving, rather than assigning blame. Let's use this as a learning experience to avoid similar issues moving forward. Blaming the homeowner only makes you look bad, and it shows you refuse to take responsibility for the job you were hired to do it's on you, not the homeowner in the end.

If he "supervised" then he has lost any argument about quality. As a previous contractor, I would have done all forming and block work myself and hired you guys for the pour and finishing only. He apparently doesn't know much and probably had a client stiff him for legitimate substandard work. People like this make us all seem like frauds and idiots. Pay this man, now!

Honestly you should have something in the contract that states if your workers are mistreated you have the right to refuse service at any point. Then if you start getting mistreated mid job just walk away even if you already tore up their yard. If they signed the contract and broke the terms then it's on them.

The camera makes many of the lines look curved, sometimes it looks like the boxing has blown out but I'm sure it's fine. It's hard to see what climate you're working in but pre-wetting the base may help buy you time when it comes to finishing. Seeing that you did that over a couple of hours that went off pretty quickly, I would have wet that mix up which would also drop the MPA/PSI a little. Initially the broom finish looked good but as you progress the finish becomes much lighter, really needed to get onto that much sooner. You should invest in a proper screed and magnesium bull float you'll appreciate how smooth and creamy it makes the top. It's not a good look screeding concrete with a piece of timber. Doing concrete for domestic homeowners is a nightmare, I ended up getting into Civil Construction.

That’s the reason quit tattooing. People come in with a picture of google, want the exact copy. Even if you do exact copy they will try to find a reason to not pay you. Recently I just let somebody go with a half finished piece cause mid piece he told me: I don’t have the money for the whole tattoo, I just got half of it. People show up intentionally without money etc. Sick and tired of being „a contract worker“ if that makes sense. Everybody these days acts way over their status. It’s as if social media has become real life for them… delusional idiots. That’s what these clients really were. Delusional self loving egos.

I was a landscaping contractor in California for over 25 years and i loved what I did but boy is a dark day when you find this dirt bags of clients. To make matters worst also have to deal with the morons of the contractor license board which will side with this crooks all the time. I did my best to satisfy this idiots for years The only time I put my foot down with one of this crooks and we went to arbitration this moron from the license board side with the home owner despite me proving I never abandon the job and and job been completed over 90 percent and been terminated for no legal reason. I was fined thousands of dollars and got my license suspended. So you have crooked people and also have morons from the license board the will side with them, it is a contractors nightmare. stories like this of contractor been taken advantage off, are way to common and don't make the headlines, but when the homeowner get taken advantage by an unlicensed individual makes all the headlines and license contractors get put unfairly in the same category as this people. So I know the feeling you did a nice job
